How Scoutate handles account and research information.
Scoutate processes account credentials, workspace membership, research records, and integration metadata needed to operate the product. Research content belongs to the customer workspace that created it.
We use cookies and similar session tokens to keep you signed in. Extension sessions are separate from web sessions and can be revoked from Security settings.
Google Sheets access is granted only when a workspace connects Google and enables a mapping. Scoutate does not use Sheets as the primary database.
Many teams connect a dedicated Google account used only for Scoutate research spreadsheets, instead of a primary personal or company Google account. This is optional, but often preferred when you want Integrations access limited to Sheets created for research.
Scoutate requests Google Sheets access (and Drive metadata needed to list spreadsheets) only after an owner or manager connects Google. PostgreSQL remains the source of truth; Sheets is an output. A dedicated Google account does not change those OAuth scopes — it limits which Google identity, and therefore which Sheets, Scoutate can reach.
